Registering to vote in Ohio has never been easier.

Thanks to Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted, Ohioans wishing to register to vote or update their registration can now do so online at MyOhioVote.com/VoterRegistration.

At Secretary Husted’s request, the General Assembly passed Senate Bill 63, which authorizes the use of online voter registration in Ohio. The bill allowed the system to be made available to Ohioans as early as January 1, 2017 and it launched at midnight on the first.

Online Voter Registration for Ohio begins in 2017

On June 13, 2016, Ohio Governor John Kasich signed online voter registration into law.

Ohio VIP is a supporter of the online voter registration system because it will require all of the following for an application to be accepted:

A valid Ohio Drivers License or State ID
A valid Social Security Number
